Questions people ask before they connect a folder
What does $60/year cover?
One production website (domain). www.example.com and example.com count as the same site. Within that site you can publish as many folders, libraries and embeds as you like. Another domain or a different subdomain such as shop.example.com needs its own subscription.
Does FolderBloom copy my files?
No. Documents stay in your Dropbox or OneDrive and are streamed to visitors when they download. FolderBloom stores file names and sizes so it can list them quickly. With the gallery add-on it also stores optimized image copies (never the originals).
What access do you need to my storage?
Read-only. For Dropbox we request metadata and content read scopes; for OneDrive, Files.Read. FolderBloom can't change or delete anything in your storage.
What happens when I replace a file?
Save the new version over the old one with the same name, and the existing FolderBloom link serves the new file after the next sync (usually within seconds when provider change notifications are active; otherwise the scheduled check picks it up within about 35 minutes). Renames and moves inside the published folder keep the link too.
What if I delete a file?
Its link stops working and shows a clear “no longer available” page. It never redirects to a different file. If you delete and re-upload something that might be the same document, the dashboard asks you whether to reconnect the old link.
How do password-protected folders work?
You set a password on a folder in the Access page. Visitors see the folder as locked and must enter the password before any names, previews or downloads inside it are revealed. Subfolders inherit the protection. Changing the password signs everyone out of that folder.
What happens if my subscription lapses?
If a renewal payment fails, embeds keep working during a 14-day grace period while you update payment details. After that, or after a cancelled subscription reaches the end of its paid year, embeds show a small “temporarily unavailable” message — never your files.
Can I test on a staging site?
Yes. Each site can list one staging origin (for example https://staging.example.com), and localhost always works for previews. These don't need an extra license but only one staging origin is allowed.
Does it work with WordPress, Webflow or Squarespace?
Yes — the embed is a single script tag that works on any page that allows custom HTML. There's an optional WordPress plugin that adds a [folderbloom] shortcode.
Do you track my visitors?
FolderBloom counts download starts per file and day, and may record the referring website's domain. It doesn't store visitor IP addresses or set tracking cookies on your site.
